732. Einzelner Kürassierstiefel, links

Frankreich, Lyon, um 1700. Verstärkter Schaft aus gehärtetem Leder ("cuir bouilli") mit gepolstertem Stulp. Mehrschichtig vernähte und an der Ferse genagelte Sohle. Oberhalb des Spanns eine Verstärkungsgamasche mit geprägter Lilienzier ("fleur-de-lys") und der Herstellerbezeichnung "DUSSAUSSOY LECADET BOTTIER A LION". Mit stabil befestigtem Rädchensporn. H 50,5 cm.

Ehemals zahlreich vorhandene Ausrüstungsteile aus gehärtetem Leder vor dem 18.Jh. sind nur in Ausnahmefällen erhalten.
Dieser Stiefel war ein effektiver Schutz gegen Griff- und Stangenwaffenangriffe von Infanteristen.
