528. "Keuschheitsgürtel"
Historismus. Eisen, floraler und ornamentaler Ätzdekor. Profilierte, tlw. durchbrochene Bänder. Taillengürtel mit 2 scharnierten Seitenteilen, die urspr. mit Vorhängeschlössern versperrt werden konnten. Verbindungsstück durch den Schritt mit zentralem Scharnier. H 24 cm.
- Leichte Alters- und Korrosionsspuren.
Es gibt keinen eindeutigen Beleg dafür, dass der Keuschheitsgürtel bereits im Mittelalter bekannt war. Man vermutet, dass es sich um einen Mythos handelt, der in der Barockzeit erfunden und verbreitet wurde, um das Bild des "finsteren Mittelalters" zu zeichnen.
