547. Figur «Allegorie des Sommers»
Ferdinand Schlöth (1818–1891), Rom, datiert 1858. Weisser Marmor. Auf rechteckiger Plinthe stehende, Ähren lesende junge Frau in antikisierenden Gewändern. Neben ihr steht eine Garbe. Auf der Rückseite der Plinthe signiert: «FD. SCHLÖTH SCULP.» und datiert: «ROMA. MDCCCLVIII.». H 81 cm.
- Leichte Alters- und Witterungsspuren. Plinthe minimal bestossen.
Der in Basel geborene und aufgewachsene Ferdinand Schlöth übersiedelt 1844 nach Rom, wo er sich zum Bildhauer ausbildet. Er nimmt jedoch regelmässig an Ausstellungen und Wettbewerben in der Schweiz teil. Zu seinen bekanntesten Werken gehört das Winkelried-Denkmal in Stans. Schlöths wichtigster Schüler ist Richard Kissling, der Schöpfer des Telldenkmals in Altdorf. (Quelle: www.sikart.ch/Schlöth, Ferdinand).
